A couple of weeks ago I got the first round of edits for book 6 in The Silk Rope Master series. The lovely editor discovered a problem which I could ignore and the book would still be fine; or I could changed the problem area.

I chose to change the area.

And what was it? Basically my heroine moves to the US - not a problem. But the reason in the book for her move was not realistic given the political climate in the US at the moment.

I wrote the book prior to the American elections so it made complete sense but today it doesn't. So I began a major rewrite. One thing led to another - the flow-on effect. Change one thing and it causes ripples that run through the entire manuscript.

Finally I finished the rewrite and emailed it back to my publisher. The poor editor will have to start from scratch but at least the reason now makes better sense.

That would have been a huge rewrite.

Congratulations on your effort! 👍😊
