New House
Well the last six months have been rather crazy for me. In August I decided to sell my house of 42 years and buy a new one almost 150kms away - a real tree change, close to trees & mountains, lakes and the ocean. No matter which way I look I can see lots and lots of trees.
Of course selling meant I had to tidy the house, repaint rooms, strip out old carpet and generally make the place as appealing as possible. It went on the market end of October and sold straight away which then meant I needed to find a new house pronto - and at Christmas time! Of course this meant my writing has been put on hold but I've settled into the house and it feels wonderful.
Anyway the outcome was I found a beautiful place. It's actually bigger than my old house (no downsizing for me) which meant I now have a dedicated office to write in AND I have a studio to paint in. No more combining the two!
The area is amazing and it's kind of like being on holiday all the time. Within a five minute drive there is an enormous lake; fifteen minutes to the coast; ten minutes to the mountains and less than 3/4 of an hour to the wineries in the Hunter Valley.
But more importantly - the Smelly Cheese Shop is only forty minutes away...lol. As well there are oodles of National Parks in the area - all within a ten to thirty minute drive.
Anyway, writing is now on the table. I plan to start back into it at the beginning of the month. There are four books almost completed, another 7 WIPs and heaps more with scribbled ideas or a few chapters down on paper.
So stayed tuned! I haven't given up writing.... ;)
